POZNAN

Since 1975 our Conference has benn traditionally held in Poznan. It is one of the largest and oldest Polish cities, the capital of the historic region of Wielkopolska (Great Poland), where the Polish state came into being a thousend years ago. The earliest signs of man in the area date from stone age. The first mention of Poznan was in a 10th century chronicle (the beginning of written Polish history) contemporaneous with establishment of the first Polish bishopric in 968. Today, Poznan is an important industrial, trade, agriculture, cultural, academic and educational centre.
