  1. Application and development of computer simulation techniques (Monte Carlo, Molecular Dynamics and hybrid methods) to study structural, thermodynamic and dynamic properties of many body systems:
    1. statistical geometry studies of systems with hard core interactions,
    2. modelling of brownian particle systems and colloidal suspensions,
    3. modelling of granular systems.
  2. Investigations of aperiodic structures:
    1. conformal crystals: theoretical analysis and numerical simulations of the classical n-body system submerged within a strong gravitational field,
    2. degenerate crystals: theoretical studies and computer simulations of systems of positive ground state entropy per particle,
    3. quasicrystals.
  3. Studies of complexity of model systems.
  4. Physics of metamaterials
    1. mechanisms leading to negative Poisson's ratio,
    2. structure and mechanical properties of auxetics,
    3. metamaterials with unstable inclusions,
    4. systems of negative thermal expansion,
    5. magneto-elastic metamaterials.
  5. Fractional calculus: applications of fractional derivatives in physics.
  6. Generators of pseudorandom numbers.
